My formal schooling is in the territory of medicine and horticulture and I believe that my intense study in these fields is strongly reflected in my creations.
Rotating and flipping is exciting, especially when I turn a piece to find a section that needs my attention. These discoveries surprise and delight me.
Beginning with the skeleton, I work from the inside out adding layer upon layer. Each addition deepens my relationship with the work.
Always, there is a strong design intent but, the personalities of each piece unfold and reveal themselves as I work and their identities crystalize.
These unique temperaments are the wild card! I meet and greet each character for the first time upon completion.
It is my intention to bring joy and wonderment to the viewers of my sculptures.
